Summit's Nutrition Rehabilitation Goals and Philosophy
Nutrition Goals
The primary goals of the nutrition rehabilitation at Summit Eating Disorder and Outreach Program are weight restoration, cessation of weight reduction behaviors, normalization of eating behaviors, and the challenge of erroneous beliefs related to food and nutrition. The intent of these goals is to correct the biological and psychological consequences of malnourishment.
Nutrition Philosophy
Medical and nutrition stabilization are necessary before psychological therapy can be optimally effective. Therefore, nutrition rehabilitation is the first and most important goal of the treatment team. This is accomplished by providing emotionally and physically nurturing interventions aimed at supporting you in complying with your caloric requirements.
